SHOUT is delighted to announce it will receive a £47,555 investment for development and programming following a successful application to Arts Council England’s National Lottery funded Grants for the arts programme earlier this month.
Since 2009, SHOUT has programmed over 120 events, held 60 live performances and worked with 250 artists – bringing festivals and cultural activities to over 30 venues across the region.
The new funding which runs until Autumn 2016 allows SHOUT to recruit a part-time worker who will oversee its organisational development and programming activity.
The SHOUT Steering Group said ‘we are thrilled to receive this latest vote of confidence from Arts Council England for SHOUT’s work. This funding allows us to really focus on developing SHOUT as an entity, enhances our ability to carry out partnership working and continue to programme LGBT arts within the region’.
Peter Knott, Area Director, Arts Council England said: ‘Supporting a diverse arts and cultural sector across England is a crucial part of what the Arts Council does. With this investment it will be great to see SHOUT’s programme grow to connect more people across the West Midlands with great LGBT art and culture.’
SHOUT will be seeking and to have its new co-ordinator in post by mid-Spring with its 7th Festival of Queer Arts and LGBT Culture taking place in November.
