PARTICIPANTS FOR ARTISTS' PROJECT
Do you have an interest in LGBTQI+ activism and history? Are you interested in sharing your experiences of being LGBTQI+?
What does connection mean in an information age? How do we enable acts of care, intimacy, joy and rebellion from and beyond our screens?
Commissioned by SHOUT Festival and Grand Union, artist Rory Pilgrim is looking for people from across the LGBTQ+ to explore experiences of community, resistance, histories and activism. Taking place over a weekend workshop, the project will create a safe space in which participants will work with discussion and simple excercises involving sound, movement and filmmaking. This will lead to a public collaborative music and spoken word performance for the opening of SHOUT Festival on November 9th at mac Birmingham.
Participation in workshops on Sat 14th and/or Sun 15th October (lunch and refreshments provided)
No previous experience of music or filmmaking needed
You can share your stories in the workshops, but participation in the final performance is optional.
We are also interested in hearing from community members who are singers, writers, dancers, and/or vloggers.
For further information or if you are unable to attend the workshop and would like to participate, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
