SHOUT 17 - And The Rest Of Me Floats (Outbox Theatre)

SHOUT 17 - And The Rest Of Me Floats (Outbox Theatre)

Are you a girl or a boy? What was your old name? How are we going to solve the toilet situation? Don’t you just want to look nice?

A new show by the critically acclaimed Outbox Theatre all about the messy business of gender and made by performers from across the queer community, And The Rest Of Me Floats examines the ways in which gender is questioned, categorised, and policed (often violently so). Weaving together autobiographical performance, movement, pop songs, stand-up and dress-up, And The Rest Of Me Floats is an anarchic celebration of the body that refuses to conform.

This performance will be followed by a work-in-progress performance of the new collaboration between actor Ash Palmisciano (King Lear, RSC) and Olivier Award-winning playwright Jon Brittain (Rotterdam, Arts Theatre), The Ultimate Lad. A story about growing up, about belonging, about fathers and sons, about being a man, and about being yourself.
