Courage: Making Medals for Everday Courage (Craftspace Workshop)

With Karina Thompson
In Partnership with Craftspace & Ageing Better

Birmingham LGBT Centre

Saturday 16 October, 12-4pm

SHOUT festival partnered with Craftspace and Ageing Better to develop two workshops in October 2021 that focus on using crafts to accommodate intergenerational conversations within the LGBTQI+ community in the West Midlands. The sessions will be lead by experienced artists/makers (Karina Thompson and Jacob Monk) who will use craft as a vehicle for encouraging important conversations within our community.

The workshops will offer a way for people to express themselves creatively and to share their experiences; to tell their story and for their story to be heard.

The workshops will take place in Birmingham LGBT Centre on two Saturdays (16th October and 23rd October), with the selected pieces produced during the events being exhibited in November 2021 as part of the Craftspace “Craft in Common” project.
