RAGEing Queer is an interdisciplinary performance of song, spoken word, movement and video which shares lived experiences and feelings from a position of strength rather than vulnerability. Kitt will share some of the crafting techniques they have developed. You can also experiment with your own ideas, share skills and chat about developing a drag character through planet-kind drag crafts (drag costume, wig & prop making using recycled, natural and low environmental impact materials and processes).
Reflections of an Indian Dancer is anchored in three exquisite solo pieces in the classic traditions in which Subramaniam is trained: Bharatanatyam, Odissi and Kathak – bringing the work straight into the 21st century is the bold and, at times, very vulnerable monologue that accompanies the performance. Through this startling spoken word soundtrack, the audience is taken into the interior world of the performer and invited to explore their own sense of identity.
